Tideaway Sailability

The Service

Tideway is a unique sailing club in central London where people with or without a disability all sail together as one community.

We sail three days a week from April to October, plus special days by arrangement. It is rare that we have to curtail sailing because of the weather as our volunteers are hardy and we can reduce the size of the sails if it is windy. Please ring the sailing compound if you are unsure on 020 7237 9001 after 10.00 am. Be patient as obviously the sailing activities take priority over answering a telephone!

Wednesdays & Thursdays 10.00-15.30
5th April – 26th October 2017
Just turn up although it is better to ring the clubhouse so we can expect you. If you are a group (4 or more) please contact us in advance so we can be sure of giving you the proper attention.

Sundays 10.00-16.00
We sail most Sundays throughout the year (except Christmas & New Year).
Recreational sailing, brushing up on those techniques and occasional training sessions. Plus, we have some informal racing and coaching with the aim of improving skills and enjoyment, come along and learn the racing rules and prepare for more racing later in the year.

Evening sailing
Subject to availability of resources to run the sessions, we also run summer evening sailing sessions between 16.00-20.00

Membership costs £1/year for all volunteers and sailors.
Sailing fees
If you want to sail on your own or as an assisted sailor (but not as a volunteer), you will need to pay a sailing fee of £10 for every sailing session (half day) (adult) or £5 (young person).
If you want to sail regularly you may wish to pay one of the following annual fees with reduced Session fees:
