Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships last for a minimum of 12 months and combine paid employment with training, allowing you to gain valuable work experience and a qualification.

If you are interested in an apprenticeship, but need to improve your literacy and numeracy skills in order to meet the eligibility criteria, then a traineeship might be an option.

You can find more information about what an apprenticeship involves, what the eligibility requitrements are, and the opportunities available on the National Apprenticeship Service website.

A Supported Internship is also a way to gain experience and skills in the workplace. Supported internships are a structured study programme based primarily at an employer. They enable young people aged 16-24 with a statement of SEN, a Learning Difficulty Assessment or an Education, Health and Care plan to achieve sustainable paid employment by equipping them with the skills they need for work, through learning in the workplace.
