The Service:

Southbank Mosaics are running their award winning courses for children interested in art and design for special needs students in the new academic year. Students make mosaic work for exhibition and develop their personal portfolios in a professional artisan studio.

Who is the service for?

This is for individual students and groups interested in art and design. We work with mainstream and Special Education Needs children. We also accommodate parents and SEN assistants or teachers. All children have the option of taking accredited courses in Level 2 (Introduction to Mosaic Making: Towards Employment) and every child who has taken a course with us in the past, has successfully achieved credits, awards or certificates. Some children have been coming to us for 5 years, with two students returning to volunteer at our sessions. Our central London location means we also visit the many galleries, festivals and events in the vicinity.
Teachers who want to use mosaic making in their work with children in
school also come to us for our evening and weekend courses.

Criteria for access to service:

Paid for service: £480 for term, one day per week. Can negotiate bespoke service. Evening and weekend courses for teachers and adults start from £150.00.
