Batten disease also known as the neuronal ceroid lipofuscinoses (NCL’s), are a group of rare inherited neurodegenerative disorders.

Who is the service for?

Children with suspected battens disease who need expert input in diagnosis and in meeting their health needs and care

Criteria for access to service

Child with suspected or diagnosed IMD needing diagnostics and or support

How this is provided:

We carry out tests to diagnose patients and provide expert support in the management of batten disease

How can I access this service?

We accept referrals from GP’s, paediatricians and paediatric neurologists, all local children’s services should be aware of and support the referral.
