The Service

 

We are a team of professionals made up of:

  • Psychotherapists

  • Psychologists

  • Psychiatrists

  • Nurses

 

Problems we may help with:

 

  • Emotional problems (including anxiety and depression)

  • Behavioural problems

  • Attention and concentration difficulties

  • Child and family relationship difficulties

  • Trauma and loss

  • Types of abuse including sexual abuse

  • Self harm

 

Ways that we can help:

 

  • Assessment of the problems

  • Parent and child work

  • Individual sessions for the child, which may include art or child psychotherapy

  • Family therapy

  • Parenting interventions

  • Cognitive behaviour therapy

  • Consultation

  • Prescribing medication

 

How Can I Access this Service?

 

Referrals can be made by anyone who is concerned about a child including:

  • Their parent or carer

  • Their GP

  • Their teacher

  • Their social worker


The Hope Project:

 

The Hope Project at Southwark CAMHS works with children, young people and their families who have been affected by traumatic events. These might include one-off life events, such as a road traffic accident, or experiences of abuse and violence that have occurred over a longer period of time.

 

Useful to Know:

 

We measure outcomes using standardised measures and receive regular positive feedback from service users and commissioners related to service provision. We utilise the most evidence-based approaches when treating cases
