The Nest

The Nest in Southwark provides free mental health and wellbeing support for young people aged 11 – 25. This supports young people and their families with the opportunities, experiences and tools to enable them to develop their emotional and social skills through one-to-one and group work.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, the service offers remote support including e-resources, an online chat service, and one-to-one advice over the phone or video calls. Once lockdown restrictions are lifted these services will continue alongside face-to-face support from the base in Peckham, Southwark.

Keeping Families Strong (Project) - Free training sessions for parents/carers

The Nest is seeking parents/carers of a young person between the ages of 11-24 who may be at risk of experiencing youth violence, grooming or exploitation. This is a free mental wellbeing support service for young people and their families in Southwark, who would like support navigating the education, criminal justice or social care systems.

The Nest is offering free training (pdf, 613kb) to help Southwark parents deal with the above areas listed and any other related training they feel they may need.

Two sessions are currently available on Saturday 17th April 2021 and Saturday 24th April 2021

Training will be provided by various organisations including the Nest. It will include:

  • How to navigate the social justice and Education system

  • Signs and Symptoms of Grooming

  • Have your say(parents to let us know what training they would like)

  • Much more to be decided.
