Although many colleges offer vocational courses and training, there are other resources available to get sector related training if a mainstream education centre is not suitable.

Roots and Shoots

Roots and shoots is a biodiversity charity organisation that works with young people aged 16-19 with disabilities, learning difficulties or behavioural and emotional difficulties. The organisation offers courses in horticulture, retail, and employability and personal development diplomas. Facilities and projects include the development of diverse habitats in the Wild Garden to increase the biodiversity of insect.

Walworth Garden Farm

Walworth Garden Farm is a local charity and social enterprise that serves the local community of Southwark and surrounding boroughs. Providing environmental education, training in horticulture, garden maintenance services, workshops and courses, Walworth Garden Farm offers QCF training programmes (previously NVQs) aimed at young people not in education or employment.

Hadlow College

Hadlow College is a specialist land-based college offering a wide range of courses within in horticultural and land management sector to suit the needs of many different students. Courses can be completed on a full time or part time basis and the college offers a range of both Further and Higher Education qualifications.  The college can be contacted directly for more information about the special educational needs support available.

CSV Springboard Southwark

CSV Springboard Southwark is a charity delivering vocational training and employment support opportunities for young and adult people in South East London. This is done on both pre-employment and work-based programmes. Based in Southwark, Springboard offer a wide range of training, primarily for young people aged 16 to 23 year olds to help them develop and improve their skills. Opportunities are also available for adult learners.
