Education via an Alternative Provision
11 – 16-year-old pupils
Arco Academy is a Sports Specialist Alternative Provision, providing its students with:
Core GCSE’s (English, Maths, Science), functional skills, vocational curriculum, accredited sports qualifications, careers advice, mentoring, work experience/ placement opportunities, club links, extra - curricular activities, outreach and a reintegration package to suit learner.
Who is the service for?
We provide full time and part time placements for ages 11-16 years old students in Southwark and neighboring boroughs. We are unable to accommodate statemented students at this time.
Criteria for access to service
Referrals from Schools, PURU and Local Authorities only.
Accessibility of this service
There are only stairs to access other levels in the building and there are no lifts available.
How can I access this service?
Arco academy Alternative Provision can be accessed through:
- Mainstream school
- Pupil Referral Unit;
- Social Inclusion Panel and the AWA Service, following advice and appropriate documentation from a school’s AWA officer.
- Multi-agency assessment of needs.
- Completing a CAF which should be sent to Local Authority (for proper
consideration of the referral please include any evidence of prior assessments with proposed outcomes).
How is this service funded?
Funded through referrals.

This service is free to anyone who is referred.
