The Complete Works
The service
We are an alternative school working with students whose needs could not be adequately met in mainstream school. This can be due to a number of factors including mental health, special educational needs, trauma and physical illness.
We design a unique programme of education and wellbeing support for every student, helping them to rebuild their confidence and discover a new passion for learning. Though we specialise in Key Stages 3,4 and 5, we also work with a number of primary aged students.
Our curriculum is broad, relevant and adaptable to suit any student. Ofsted have consistently rated us as Good, with their most recent inspection (November 2022) noting a number of Outstanding elements.
We are a fully registered exam centre, so students can sit GCSEs, Functional Skills, BTECs and other exams with us. The Core Values of our school are Creativity, Holistic Education, Individuality and Open-Mindedness.
How the service is provided
Our teachers work on a one to one basis with students in our Learning Hubs, in public spaces such as libraries and in students' homes. We also teach a wide variety of subjects in small group classes, designed to be nurturing and dynamic.
Students have access to Counselling and Personal Development programmes to support their wellbeing and growth, as well as a wealth of extra-curricular creative activities.
Additional Information
We work with children and young people from a wide variety of backgrounds. Most have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), though this is not a requirement.
We are experienced in working with all major Special Educational Needs as well as Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. We also have students with physical health needs.
Although we work with many young people from Southwark, our service operates all over London. We are a fully bespoke service and can adapt to be accessible to a wide variety of needs. All our major sites are wheelchair accessible.
How to access the service
Referrals come through the local authority, or through schools. Please have a look at our website and if you feel we may be suitable for your child, you can talk to the *relevant team in Southwark or your child's school about your reasons for wanting a referral.
We also accept referrals from Children's Social Care. We do not accept referrals directly from parents or carers.
