Local Organisations

  • Flying Fantastic provide aerial classes for disabled adults. We welcome wheelchair users and blind or visually impaired adults to come and give aerial a go!  We’ll work in small groups, adapting movement and teaching through touch where useful.

  • Metro Blind Sport is a London based charity that lists all sporting events and opportunities for people with visual impairments. Worth subscribing to in order to keep updated about all upcoming events across London.
  • Free Gym and Swim in Southwark - All Southwark residents who have a disability can use the Southwark Council gyms anytime and can also bring a carer for free. Registration is required first.
     
  • Tideway Sailability is a friendly and welcoming Sailing Centre at Surrey Docks in Southwark. They have experience sailing with children and people of all ages who have a visual impairment. The boats are adapted to be extra stable and the sailing venue is enclosed so is very safe to learn to sail.
  • Charlotte's Tandems is a lending charity where borrowers can use a tandem for up to 3 months.
  • Wheels for Wellbeing provide accessible cycling for all, including tandem cycling for visually impaired people in Southwark.
