Nutrition and dietetics service
Treating children with a wide range of weight and eating conditions
The children's general outpatient dietitians see a wide range of conditions including:
- weight faltering
- underweight (excluding known eating disorders)
- selective eating problems including in autistic spectrum disorders (if severe please consider referral to the specialist feeding clinic)
- food allergy/intolerance (if multiple/severe food allergy, please refer to our specialist allergy service)
- overweight and obesity
- mineral/vitamin deficiencies, for example anaemia
- constipation.
We offer specialised skills for:
- assessing the need for dietary input and management
- designing an individual plan to meet these individual needs
- assessing and monitoring growth and nutrition.
