The Estia Centre is a specialist training, research and development resource for people who support adults with a learning disability, autism and additional mental health needs. We support the development of a competent local learning disabilities workforce, from support staff to experienced managers from a variety of services
Maudsley Learning is the education and training arm of the Trust. Our mission is to produce the highest quality mental health and wellbeing education and training products. Their courses are delivered by renowned mental health experts at the Trust and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King’s College London. We design and deliver courses to meet the continuing professional development needs of individual professionals in the healthcare workforce, and also for colleagues in social services, policing, schools and in the private sector.

Resources for Autism is offering bespoke training to professionals on autism and neurodiversity. This is delivered by autism experts and experts by experience.
We are facilitating a series of one-hour online lunch and learn training to capacity build professionals in Lewisham and Southwark.

This training will be delivered on Microsoft Teams, explaining what autism is, exploring challenges, differences and strengths in the following key areas: flexibility of thought; information processing; social interaction; communication and sensory experiences and more. The Hub is a Southwark initiative to provide colleagues with bespoke support, training and research-based newsletters focussing specifically on provision for children with SEND within a mainstream setting.

NDCS (National Deaf Children's Society) have created two FREE e-learning modules to help you gain confidence and competence in identifying and responding to bullying of deaf children and young people. These interactive modules will equip you with the essential knowledge to spot potential bullying and fully support deaf children and young people if they experience it.
Introductory module overview
This module is the perfect place to start learning about bullying and the impact it may have on deaf children and young people. The module will take about 30 minutes to complete.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this module you will be able to:
- identify what is meant by bullying
- state the definition of a deaf child or young person
- name the different types of bullying
- identify why deaf children and young people are more vulnerable to bullying.
Module 2 overview
Once you have completed our introductory module, you can move on to module 2. It will explore the impact of bullying in further depth and explain how you should respond and report concerns about bullying. The module will take about 30 minutes to complete.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this module you will be able to:
- describe how deaf children and young people are affected by bullying
- state how to respond to bullying of deaf children and young people
- know how to report concerns regarding a deaf child or young person experiencing bullying.

Prerequisites
