The Service
Mentally Healthy Schools is a new website that provides practical information and resources to help all primary school staff understand, promote and deal confidently with children’s mental health issues.
The site is divided into four sections:
• Teaching resources: focuses on schools' abilities to promote and build your pupils' good mental health with a range of quality-assured teaching resources.
• Risks and protective factors: explores how schools can identify which children might face greater risks, and shares resources to help protect them and build their resilience.
• Mental health needs: focuses on children who are struggling or are mentally unwell. It helps schools understand your role and how you can help promote your pupils' recovery.
• Whole-school approach: helps school leaders develop the wider support across the school to help children, families and staff thrive.

How can I access this service?
This service can be accessed online at www.mentallyhealthyschools.org.uk. Registering allows you to create your own library of useful links and resources.
Criteria to access this service:
Most of the resources are free. There are a small number of evaluated, mostly licensed programmes that carry a fee.
How is this service funded?
Coordinated and financed by The Royal Foundation, 'Mentally Healthy Schools' has been developed by the youth-focused charity partners of Heads Together; the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families (AFNCCF), Place2Be and Young Minds.

Preserving your privacy is important and mentally healthy schools are committed to letting you know how they use your personal information. The AFNCCF will only collect, process and store your personal information in accordance with data protection laws.
