January and February 2021 - Traineeships and Enrichment programmes

Southwark's Post 16 service has identified training programmes starting in January and February 2021 for anyone looking to find opportunities to access employment.  

  

1.  Capital City College (pdf, 764kb) Group NEET 12 week programme

Overview: Health and social care level 1 with functional skills English and Maths progression routes to HSC level 3 and an apprenticeship with the NHS. Start dates would be confirmed once enrolment has been completed.

 

 

2.  Bello Fitness - 6 week personal training programme – see website for further details.

Overview: The next free personal training course will start on the 11th January 2021.  The course will run for 6 weeks, 4 days a week with one day being in the gym and the others online via zoom. If you are interested, please contact Seve for further details.  The gym is based in Great Portland Street and the qualification is a level 2 fitness instructor, level 2 active leadership and level 3 in personal training.

 

 

3.  KBM Traineeships in accounting (a 12 week introductory traineeship programme for those who are unemployed or have little to no work experience).

Overview: If you are aged between 16-18 and not sure which career path to choose, why not consider a 12 week traineeship at KBM. A real opportunity to obtain work experience and learn new skills and career progression within a professional environment.

 

 

4.  Prince's Trust programme and online support.

Overview: Check online as programmes are changeable due to COVID-19 social distancing guidance.

 

 

5.  Re-set-go - paid work placements in architecture.

Overview: The deadline to apply is 6pm, 11 January 2021. There are 18 available placements for 16-24 year olds.  Applications are particularly welcomed from under-represented groups from Southwark, Wandsworth, Lewisham and Lambeth., 

 

 

6. Southwark College - Back on Track (pdf, 1.6mb)12 week NEET Programme.

How to register: For more information and to secure a place email Jadene.Stewart@lscollege.ac.uk  or visit southwark.ac.uk/track applications are to be completed before 5th February 2021 and you should be available to enrol before half term which starts 15th February 2021.

Overview: Back on track programme - staring 23rd February 2021. Only 14 places are available. Recruitment from 1st February 2021. Not offering functional skills in English and Maths.

 

7.  Spear programme - 6 Week confidence building and employability skills programme

Overview: Looking ahead to the next Spear Programme: Online – starting on Tuesday 12th January.   Applications from 16-24 year olds who could benefit from 12 months of Spear support are welcome.
