Autism Support Team - Information for families 

 In partnership with the Autism Education Trust (AET) we are offering Developing Toileting in the Early Years Training for Parent + Carers of autistic children.

Aims:

  • To develop knowledge of how to support autistic children  to achieve toileting independence.
  • To understand the importance of working with others to support autistic children to develop independent toileting skills

Learning objectives:

  • Understand how autism can impact on children developing independent toileting skills.
  • Understand the importance of all adults working together to support the development of independent toileting skills. 
  • Consider how to remove barriers to developing toileting skills and how to make reasonable adjustments to support further toileting independence.

Join us for an informal and friendly coffee morning with Blagoje Vucinic (Mr B), Autism Post Diagnosis Support Worker from Autism Support Team.

This is an opportunity for parents of children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder(ASD) to ask questions about the diagnosis, to discuss practical strategies for meeting the needs of your children, to meet other parents, to share information and experiences, or simply just to listen.

This training is for Southwark families of children and young people aged 6-18 years old who have an autism diagnosis. It develops the parents’ knowledge of how a child on the autistic spectrum experiences the world and what drives their behaviour.

Cygnet Puberty, Sexual Wellbeing and Relationships 

For parents of a child on the autistic spectrum over 9, coping with the onset of puberty and their child’s emerging sexuality can be challenging.
